For those of you who don’t yet know, I’m making this official: I’m heading back to Australia. My family and I are currently planning to move back to Canberra in early September (just over 3 months from now)
It’s been a long time: nearly 18 years in England (I’ll be leaving about 1 month short of my 18th anniversary)
This is a move that I’ve been thinking about for a very long time. As much as I love London, England, all of Europe, and the northern hemisphere, I really miss my homeland, my family and friends. A number of medical issues with my parents last year made me realise how little time we have left together, and so I decided that 2018 was the year to head back.
Because this move is primarily driven by a desire to be nearer my family, we are moving to Canberra. My brother lives there, it is only a tiny 3 hour drive to my parents home in Tumbarumba, and I can probably find work there, either in Canberra itself or remote.
Of course, I will need to ensure I say a proper farewell to all my friends in London. I’d love to catch up with everyone before I leave. I will try to make all of the remaining Extreme Tuesday Club events, so that would be a good place to find me. If that doesn’t work well, get in touch with me, and we can organise something more personal.
